PureLink, a leading provider of HD video connectivity solutions for A/V professionals worldwide, today announced the availability of a new 3mm jacketed, multimode duplex fiber optic cable, the TWF2, as part of their TotalWire line of cables and accessories. The TWF2’s fibers are protected at the glass level by an integral polymeric coating, which increases both bend and tensile strength and results in a 10,000 times longer lifespan than that of standard optical fiber cables.
The TWF2 is sold in 1000 foot lengths and can be purchased with PureLink's TotalWire TWF2 Fiber Termination Tool, as well as their TWF2 LC and SC fiber connectors, which come in packs of 10. The TWF's advanced optical glass fibers are much stronger, safer, and faster terminating than normal fibers. Their integral proprietary polymeric coating eliminates the need for the typical plastic "buffer" on standard fiber that has to be stripped or removed prior to termination. This simplifies the process and also gives the cable a very low attenuation loss rate and a tight bend radius, increasing safety when working with these cables in the field.
"PureLink's TWF2-1000 flexible fiber cables are not as delicate as your everyday optical fiber cables and are one of the easiest to terminate," said Kevin Kang, PureLink's Technical Sales Director. "And as a special incentive to our partners and customers, we are extending the warrantee on our PureMedia and HDTools fiber extender products by 2 years when the TWF2 cables are used with them," he added. "That works out to 5 years on parts and 7 years on labor for PureMedia extenders and 5 years parts and labor for HDTools extenders," stated Kang.
