The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) provides aerospace and maritime monitoring and warning for North America. The U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) provides homeland defense, civil support and security cooperation to defend and secure the United States and its interests. NORAD and USNORTHCOM are located at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado with command centers located at both Peterson AFB and Cheyenne Mountain.

RGB Spectrum recently installed new video wall systems equipped with its advanced MediaWall® V 4K UHD video wall processors at the command centers in Cheyenne Mountain. The RGB Spectrum video wall systems adhere to stringent display requirements, including the ability to display disparate visual sources in real-time, with no dropped frames.

MediaWall V processors offer outstanding image quality, 4K UHD input and output, support for a diverse range of image types, ease of use and an embedded architecture for 24/7 reliability. The processors deliver unmatched display versatility with the ability to display imagery in windows of any size, anywhere on the video wall array, overlap windows, and pan and zoom to view items of particular interest.

In the first command center room, a MediaWall processor drives a 2 x 6 wall array of 55-inch LCD displays. In the second, a MediaWall processor feeds a smaller 2 x 2 wall array of similar displays.

Each processor receives inputs from a variety of situational awareness and video teleconferencing (VTC) feeds. The MediaWall processor consolidates these signals and displays them, real-time, in scalable windows on the video wall. Operators can instantly switch input sources and choose from up to 60 customizable display layouts.
