With latest additions, company now offers fiber, 4K/60 copper, and 4K/60 HDMI I/O blades; new blades add support for HDCP 2.2
Rockleigh, NJ, September 2, 2015 – Crestron continues to expand its standard-setting DigitalMedia™ solutions with the introduction of two new blades designed to enable Crestron DM-MD64X64 or DM-MD128X128 switchers to reliably deliver 4K and Ultra HD video, the highest available resolutions for professional applications. Each blade provides eight inputs or outputs, can be integrated on the same platform with ease, and adds support for HDCP 2.2, an industry first. DigitalMedia is still the AV industry’s most complete, scalable, and reliable 4K HDBaseT® certified distribution system.

Now shipping, the new 8-Channel 4K HDMI Input Blade for DM switchers (DMB-4K-I-C) provides eight DM inputs, and supports any resolution up to 4K and Ultra HD video. The DMB-4K-I-C input blade and the 8-Channel HDBaseT Certified 4K DigitalMedia Output Blade (DMB-4K-O-C) are compatible with the PoDM (Power over DM) Redundant Power Supply (DM-PSU-3X8-RPS), the first highly reliable power over HDBaseT compatible power supply. Connected to the PoDM power supply, each blade drives up to eight PoDM endpoints. Each power supply can drive up to three blades. Better still, the power supply occupies only 1RU, so it doesn’t take up much space, and is redundant and hot swappable, so the switcher will never lose power.
HDMI out
The DMB-4K-O-HD output blade provides eight independent HDMI outputs and is designed for 4K/60 scaling and audio extracting capabilities. Each output can be individually scaled, driving any frame rate and resolution for the best possible image on every display. Audio extracting enables the audio to de-embed from the HDMI video and transmit the digital audio to powered speakers, amplifiers, and other audio components. Scaling and audio extracting functions are coming soon and will be easily activated via Ethernet for installed systems.
