Dallas, TX, October 15, 2015 – Crestron takes residential AV and control to the next level with the new DM-DGE-200-C Digital Graphics Engine; a low-cost, easy to deploy multi-format video processor that provides the technology and support to deliver spectacular on-screen control menus and custom pop-up messaging, along with video, via room displays and touch screens. Crestron is demonstrating a range of exciting DM-DGE-200-C applications for the home at CEDIA® EXPO 2015.
The DM-DGE-200-C supports high-performance H.264 streaming via the LAN port, HDMI, and uncompressed 4K video through the DM® input, and then outputs up to 4K HDMI video to the room display. Neatly tucked away behind the display it also features a full range of control options via IR, serial, and CEC.
The DM-DGE-200-C 4K graphics engine enhances the Crestron luxury lifestyle experience by displaying an onscreen menu for controlling lighting, shading, locks, and temperature, right on the TV. The onscreen menu can be controlled by the same remote that provides control of the TV and media sources, which means minimal distraction and no interruption of TV watching. The ability to deliver dynamic pop-up messages to the display, which communicate security alerts, incoming calls, visitors at the door, or even streaming security cameras, further enriches the experience. All this power is contained in a small package that installs out of sight behind a room display or in-wall touch screen, or secured to a rack or shelf.
The DM-DGE-200-C can also be used to bring custom graphics and control GUIs to large-format touch displays, such as the 20” TSD-2020 and HID-compliant third-party touch screens.
