All Eight New Models Deliver HDBaseT™ and Other Integration Options

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Jan. 20, 2015 – Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide1, today introduced eight new PowerLite® Pro G-Series projectors delivering enhanced connectivity and installation flexibility for large venue commercial spaces in education, corporate, houses of worship and museum applications. Building upon the success of the previous generation of Pro G projectors, all the new models have a built-in HDBaseT™ interface for easier connectivity and reduced costs as well as support for Extron® XTP® and Control4® Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP).

Epson projectors offer three times higher color brightness than leading competitive projectors2. The Pro G-Series offers bright, true-to-life images and produces color brightness and white light brightness3 ranging between 4,500 to 7,000 lumens, including the addition of a new 6,500 lumen WXGA model.

“As AV technology continues to advance, integrators require solutions with more diverse connectivity options, as well as easy installation capabilities,” said Sean Gunduz, senior product manager, Projectors, Epson America, Inc. “We listened to our customers’ needs and introduced the new PowerLite Pro G-Series with exceptional image quality, and tools for easy integration into their existing infrastructures in nearly any venue.”

Advanced Connectivity and Control Protocol Support

The new PowerLite Pro G-Series includes several features that allow it to connect with virtually any system. With built-in HDBaseT for simpler installation, without the need for additional cables, signal repeaters or added labor for carrying Full HD video, audio, network and control commands, the new Pro G projectors also deliver support for Crestron®, AMX®, Extron® XTP® and Control4® Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP).

The Pro G-Series projectors are also equipped with Multi-PC Projection with Moderator4 for users to wirelessly connect up to 50 devices, including computers and iOS® and Android tablets and phones, and share from up to four device screens simultaneously5. In addition, the new Pro G-Series includes cloning features, which allow users to copy projector settings from one system to others using a USB thumb drive, a PC or over the network, saving time and resources for multi-location installations.

Several of the new PowerLite Pro G models offer widescreen, full HD performance (WUXGA) for presentations, videos, digital signage, and more. In addition, all models are compatible with DisplayPort connectivity for added convenience. Additional features include:

  • Six optional lenses with lens shift: including rear-, middle- and long-throw lenses for complete flexibility and easy exchange
  • Easy installation features: built-in edge blending, 360-degree installation flexibility
  • Industry-leading service and support: long-life air filter and easy maintenance tools, plus peace-of-mind ownership with next-business-day replacement6

Color Brightness Specification and Projector Performance

The color brightness specification (measuring red, green and blue) published by the Society of Information Display (SID) allows consumers to compare projector color performance without conducting a side-by-side shootout. With today’s high definition content, presenters can display content with higher quality in brighter environments. For a truly impressive image, projectors need to offer both high color brightness and high white brightness. High color brightness is important for larger screen sizes and provides flexibility for a variety of screen materials. Without sufficient color brightness, images may be muddy, soft and lose detail, even in a dark room. For more information, visit http://www.colorlightoutput.com.
