New Solutions from MuxLab Enable Flexible Switching and Splitting of the SDI Signal
Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Broadcasters using SDI equipment can rely on MuxLab for a unique selection of signal distribution and extension solutions. New products at IBC provide critical behind-the-scenes connectivity for studios and mobile facilities.

MuxLab will premier its 12G-SDI 1x6 Splitter (model 500718) , which delivers resolutions up to 4K on all six outputs simultaneously, ideal for broadcasters wanting to maintain top quality video when delivering one AV source to multiple destinations.  A source using 3G-SDI can also be delivered to one, two or all six outputs at the same time. This product will automatically detect a 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI input and re-clock and regenerate the signal at the output for the ideal distance between source and displays.

The MuxLab 3G-SDI /RS232 over IP Extender (model 500756) allows an easy extension of broadcast quality 3G/HD/SD-SDI video with embedded audio over a LAN. It’s a low-latency solution that can be configured in a variety of ways, providing a cost-effective alternative to a dedicated SDI matrix switch, supporting point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint configurations. It can extend a source up to 120 meters from the LAN, and allows users to send SDI over CAT5/6 cable instead of using the traditional coax infrastructure, saving cable cost and simplifying the installation. This solution is ideal for critical applications such as original video source contribution, live video delivery around a facility or running media exchanges between different studios.

A 3G-SDI to HDMI Converter (model 500717) extends 3G/HD/SD-SDI up to 90 meters over RG-6 coax cable with the added benefit of converting SDI to HDMI to be used with a more cost-effective HDMI display.
